Srinagar, Aug 29: To enhance maternity services, Government Lalla Ded Hospital Srinagar has upgraded its Hysteroscope facility which can check any abnormalities in the uterus on OPD basis and provide relief to patients.
Notably, officials at the valley’s largest maternity hospital said the technology was not commonly available in the city and is commonly used to gauge abnormalities in the uterus.
Medical Superintendent LD Hospital, Dr Muzaffar Jan said the hospital has installed Hystroscope machine worth Rs 50 lakhs. Earlier, the hospital had Hystroscope but that had deteriorated and was not repaired.
“The new technologies like this are being adopted by LD Hospital to provide better medical care for common people of Jammu & Kashmir. We will never compromise with technology, whatever technology will be adapted in advanced medicine we will try to have it,” he said.
Hysteroscope is an essential instrument for performing minimally invasive procedures such as hysteroscopy.
“This procedure is crucial for diagnosing and treating intrauterine conditions, including abnormal bleeding, polyps, fibroids, and other uterine abnormalities,” the MS said.
Dr Muzaffar said the availability of a Hysteroscope will significantly enhance the hospital’s capability to provide high-quality care and improve patient outcomes.
The MS said the hospital has been getting patients from different areas of Kashmir who needed hysteroscopy which is costlier in private hospitals.
“We have noted down details of many patients who needed this facility and we are calling them. Now patients in need of hysteroscopy can come to LD hospital. The facility will provide the much awaited relief to the people,” he added.
