Srinagar, May 24: Bashir Ahmad Kongposh, President of the Maulana Azad Traders Association and former General Secretary of the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation, has issued a statement expressing appreciation for the steps taken to restore beauty and trade in Jammu and Kashmir.
The initiative, supported by the Lieutenant Governor’s office, has been commended along with the organization of the G-20 summit on an international scale. Kongposh believes that these efforts will contribute to the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir, benefiting not only the common people but also ensuring a brighter future for traders, who play a vital role in society.
Challenges such as the current conditions faced by traders and youth unemployment are of great concern to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The negative effects of these challenges have led to an increase in drug use among the youth. In response to these issues, the government has taken commendable steps towards the upliftment and beautification of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, which is highly praiseworthy.
Tourism plays a crucial role in the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. The recently concluded G-20 summit, with its strong focus on the development and restoration of tourism in the region, presents an opportunity for the government to request the removal of travel advisories issued by certain countries, discouraging visits to Jammu and Kashmir. By making tourism more accessible, both domestic and international tourists will be encouraged to explore the scenic beauty of Kashmir, in line with the desires of the local population. This will further enhance employment opportunities for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and contribute to overall development.
