Srinagar, Mar 24: The South Campus of the University of Kashmir successfully organised a week-long Digital Marketing and AI Bootcamp from 17th to 24th March 2025. The event, designed to equip
participants with cutting-edge skills in digital marketing and artificial intelligence, was coordinated by Dr. Irfana Rashid, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, under the guidance of Prof. Waseem Bari, Director of South Campus, University of Kashmir. The bootcamp was supported and funded by the University of Kashmir under the patronage of Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan and Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal.
The bootcamp brought together students, scholars, budding entrepreneurs, and professionals,
offering a blend of expert-led sessions, hands-on activities, and competitive challenges to foster learning and innovation. The event kicked off with an inauguration ceremony graced by Dr. Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag, who delivered an inspiring keynote address on the importance of digital transformation and the role of youth in driving technological advancements.
The articipants engaged in a series of interactive sessions led by Nikita Vora, IIM Ahmedabad Alumnus and a distinguished digital marketing trainer and founder of SHELeads India. The sessions covered essential topics such as digital marketing fundamentals, social media strategy, SEO, Google Analytics, content creation, team building, and presentation skills.
A highlight of the bootcamp was the inter-group competition, where participants presented
comprehensive digital marketing campaigns to a panel of industry experts, including PK
Gautam (Founder of MFable), Arif Shah (Product Manager at Ideas2IT), and Dr. Shahnawaz Qadri (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Sciences).
The top three performing groups were awarded during the valedictory ceremony. The competition focused on four key areas: Strategy & Research, Content Creation (Posts, Landing Pages, Emails), Ad
Strategy & Budgeting, and Presentation & Teamwork. Teams worked collaboratively,
simulating professional digital marketing roles such as content writers, graphic designers,
social media managers, and data analysts. They analyzed global campaigns like “Share a Coke” and Starbucks, creating strategies and content to showcase their understanding of digital
marketing principles.
