Kulgam, Sep 24: Kulgam district has completed the digitization of revenue records.
Kulgam became the second district in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir to complete the digitalization of land records.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, said the completion of the digitisation of land records will now make it easier and hassle-free to access land documents at the fingertips.
“To complete the process of digitizing land records, centralized digitization centres were set up in all tehsils. Revenue technical teams were engaged to complete the process and now all of our records are completely digitized,” he said.
Previously people used to visit the Patwaries to get the land document for even a minor venture, with digitization the land records are now available on an online portal where people can get their land documents. Apart from this, land passbooks to every landlord will be issued to make it hassle-free for common people.
During this process of digitization, a total of 273 Jamabandis in all 7 Tehsils were digitized successfully with more than 44300 Khewats, 111020 khatas and 216030 Khasra numbers have also been made available on the land records portal, he added.
“Yes we made it possible! All 273 villages jamabandies ( Revenue land records) digitalised in Kulgam. Great achievement in just 2 months. Kudos to the whole team esp to Patwaris who made it possible. 100% land passbooks distribution by early next month,” tweeted DC Kulgam.
