Srinagar, May 01: Investigation and Resolution Committee (IRC), constituted by the Kashmiri Pandit Samaj, to look into the issue of the Hari Parbat Temple, has appealed to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to maintain the sanctity of the temple. The committee stated that the ancient Shakti Peeth of the Hari Parbat dedicated to Mata Sharika has been traditionally managed by the community even in adverse situation when the ethno-religious conflict had destabilised and displaced the community in 1990.Hari parbat signifies the heritage and civilizational moorings of the Kashmiri Pandit community and this Shakti Peeth is centuries old and was created by the Goddess Herself when creation of Kashmir valley was done by the Divine grace. This Shakti Peeth has the tantric significance and that can well be gauged from the naturally engraved sign of Chakreshwari depicting the tantric place consciousness of Kashmir which is highly venerated among the Shakta worshippers of Kashmir.
The Kashmiri Pandit Samaj has already approached the o0ffices of the Chief Minister,Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, appealing that the religious sanctity of the Hari Parbat be maintained. Besides it has also been requested that the religious sentiments of the Kashmiri Pandit Samaj be respected by not allowing the politicisation of the shrine.
Kashmiri Pandit Samaj has the experience of the past in which Bhairav Mandir,Chattabal ,Gulmarg and Rainawari led to the squandering of the Kashmiri Pandit rights by keeping the community away from the management of these religious properties. As such to restore the glory of the Hari Parbat an investigation team has been constituted by the Kashmiri Samaj. It comprises the eminent people of integrity having social acceptance for their selfless work towards the empowerment of the community. These include U.K.Handu(CA), B.L.Jalali, J.K.Raina Reshi, Ravi Bhat, Ravinder Jogi. The committee has started the investigation process and will be completed in a short period of time.
