Srinagar, Oct 02: The concluding day of a 15-day children’s theatre and dance workshop, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, saw an impressive display of talent as children of PM package employees showcased captivating dance performances and acting skills at Tagore Hall, Srinagar.
The event drew widespread appreciation, with Suresh Gupta, Principal Secretary, Department of Culture, Jammu and Kashmir UT, lauding the children’s performances. He also congratulated Dr. Sudhir Mahajan and his team for successfully developing the children’s artistic abilities within the short span of the workshop.
“The dedication of Dr. Mahajan and his team has resulted in these scintillating performances, a testament to the skills imparted in just 15 days,” Gupta stated.
The workshop, a first of its kind in Srinagar, was designed to offer children of the KP community a platform to develop social and cultural understanding. It featured a range of activities, from theatre games and role play to music, yoga, and dance, all aimed at fostering personal growth and emotional expression.
Led by renowned theatre actor, director, and playwright Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, who has over 40 years of experience, the workshop provided the children with valuable exposure to multiple art forms. Prominent social and cultural activist Anita Chandpuri coordinated the event, with Kamal Chandpuri as the assistant director. Deepika Dhar was in charge of dance, while Ashish Dhar assisted in yoga.
The workshop culminated in a memorable performance by children, including Rhythim Raina, Diwesh Zadoo, Aardhya Bhat, and many others, who captivated the audience with their enthusiasm and creativity.
Prominent attendees included Padma Shri S.P. Verma, Additional Secretary JKAACL Sanjiv Rana, and noted writers, poets, and theatre personalities from the region.
