Kishtwar, July 27: A One-Day Kisan Mela-cum-Exhibition under Centrally Sponsored Scheme MIDH was successfully organized by Department of Agriculture Sub Division Marwah at Village Chatroo in the Kishtwar District, drawing enthusiastic participation from over 300 farmers across the region.According to a statement issued here, the event was graced by Member Legislative Assembly Inderwal Constituency, Payare Lal, who attended as the Chief Guest, lending encouragement and support to the farming community.The Mela was aimed at promoting awareness of government development schemes, showcasing live demonstrations of modern agricultural practices, and strengthening the outreach of allied sectors including animal husbandry, horticulture, fisheries, and rural development.Various departmental stalls and exhibitions of agriculture and allied sectors were set up, offering hands-on information and technical guidance to farmers.The event featured live sample exhibitions of high-yielding crops, advanced farming tools, and demonstrations of innovative agri-tech solutions, drawing significant interest from participants.As part of the program, awards and prizes were distributed to progressive farmers for their exceptional contributions and adoption of innovative practices, encouraging others to follow suit.Two specially abled farmers were also recognized and awarded for their contribution in production of high quality organic Garlic in Rahthal Village.
