Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League: WCC registers thrilling win, Ace Club drubs Sharika CC

Jammu, Oct 17: Whites Cricket Club (WCC) scripted a thrilling one-wicket win over Shiva Bhagwati Cricket Club, while Ace Cricket Club got the better of Sharika Cricket Club by 8 wickets in the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League (KPCL) Season-III, being organised by Safran Cricket Club at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, near here.
In the first match, Ace Cricket Club thrashed Sharika Cricket Club in an easy contest by 8 wickets.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Sharika Cricket Club scored 127 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Dutt and Anil Bhushan scored 36 runs each, while Sachin Dhar contributed 20 runs to the total.
For Ace Cricket Club, Prabal Pandit took 2 wickets, while Sumit claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Ace Cricket Club chased the target easily in 12.2 overs, losing 2 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Suhaas Raina top scored with 59 runs off 37 balls, while Amit Bhat and Ajitesh Peshin contributed 25 and 18 runs to the total respectively.
For Sharika Cricket Club, Ankur Bagati and Sanjay Bazaz claimed one wicket each.
For his magnificent batting display, Suhaas Raina was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match, Whites Cricket Club registered a thrilling 1-wicket win over Shiva Bhagwati Cricket Club in an exciting contest.
Batting first, Shiva Bhagwati Cricket Club scored a modest total of 110 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing all their wickets in the process. Mohit Koul top scored with 43 runs off 30 balls, studded with 5 fours and 1 six, while Vinod Sapru contributed 17 runs to the total.
For Whites Cricket Club, Rohit Pandita, Sagar and Akash took 2 wickets each, while Varagia claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Whites Cricket Club chased the target in the last over by losing 9 wickets, thus winning the match by 1 wickets. Aneesh Tickoo (25), Sagar Pandita (23*), Ajay Pandita (20) and Shivam Tickoo (17) were the main scorers. Rohit Koul and Vicky Bhat captured 3 wickets each, while Amrit Khar bagged 2 wickets and Surender claimed one wicket. Rohit Pandita was adjudged as the man of the match for his superb bowling show.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Singh and Rohan as the umpires, while Arun Zalpuri was the scorer and Ajay Peshin the match referee.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Chief Organiser Sarthak Khoda.
