Ganderbal, Feb 01: The tourist places of Kashmir Valley covered in a white blanket present are abuzz with visitors who are head over heels in love with the “paradise on earth”.
Scores of non-local tourists visiting the Gagangir area of Gund in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district said the valley’s beauty gets only enhanced when covered with snow.
“It is like a dream come true for us,” a couple from Mumbai told Rising Kashmir. “We are happy for coming here. The mountains covered with snowfall present a beautiful look and give a heavenly feeling.”
“The availability of snow bikes, sledges and horses makes the visit more enjoyable,” they said.
Another family present at the tourist spot said they had seen snowfall in Kashmir only on TV and social media. “This is our first visit to any hill station, and today we see before our very eyes what we have been praying for and dreaming of,” said a lady.
Another couple, who had come here in winter for the first time, said they enjoyed today more than when they visited the valley in summer. “Kashmir is even more beautiful in winter,” they said. “We will try to come here every year in this season because the valley is indeed a heaven on earth.”
They said Kashmiris are “very welcoming”. “We feel as if we are at home, completely safe and happy,” they said.
The tourists hired horses to visit the adjacent places like Gund, Kullan and Rezan which are covered with snow. While some posed for pictures, others played with snow.
