Srinagar, May 03: A delegation of Kashmir jurists led by President Kashmir Jurists Association Advocate Altaf Ganderbali, Chief Patron Advocate Kanwal Wangnoo and Chief Coordinator Advocate Tajamul Chaudhry called on Chief Justice of Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh High Court, Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, here.
A spokesperson of the association said that during the interaction, the delegation appraised the Chief Justice about the aims and objectives and the activities of the Kashmir Jurists Association and the scheduled events for the year, especially on legal awareness in rural areas of the Union territory.
The delegation requested the Chief Justice to reshuffle long-stayed employees in all the subordinate courts of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, besides providing honorarium and insurance to young lawyers enrolled in the UT, he said. The delegation also requested welfare measures for the legal fraternity and speedy disposal of long pending litigations, emphasis on cleanliness drives and routine checks of canteens in courts across the region.
The Chief Justice was gracious enough to give a patient hearing to the visiting delegation and assured them of looking into all the requests made by them, the spokesperson added.
