Srinagar, Oct 16: As the winter season has set in, the authorities have introduced a revised power curtailment schedule for the Kashmir Valley. The Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced the following adjustments to the power supply.
Residents in metered areas will be subject to 4.5 hours of daily power curtailment, divided into three shifts – morning, afternoon, and evening.
In non-metered areas, the curtailment will be more extensive, lasting up to 8 hours on a daily basis.
To streamline this curtailment, the department has categorized affected areas into three distinct groups, each with specific curtailment schedules:
Group A1: This group comprises areas such as Habbakadal, Dalgate, Chandpora, Barbarshah, Lashkari Mohalla, and more.
Group A2: Baghwanpora, Basantbagh, Brein, Molvistop, Nishat Exchange, and other areas fall under this group.
Group A3: Koker Bazar, Pandarathen, Maisuma, Tulip Garden, Jogi Lanker, and more are part of this group.
This curtailment schedule has been designed to ensure the efficient management of power resources during the upcoming winter season. Residents are advised to plan their activities accordingly and take necessary precautions to cope with temporary power shortages.
These measures have been put in place by the authorities to guarantee that essential services and residential areas continue to receive power, even in the challenging winter conditions. It is strongly recommended that residents stay updated with the curtailment schedule to minimize inconveniences during this period.
