Jammu, Nov 12: JKSPYM State Level Coordinating Agency in collaboration with the National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, organized a ‘three-day training program on de-addiction for health service providers’ at training hall, Govt. Maternity Hospital, Gandhi Nagar GMC Jammu from November 10 to 12, 2022.
Nurses and pharmacists from all over the J&K took part in the training program. Training Program initiates with the inauguration by Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal & Dean GMC & AHs Jammu in presence of Medical Superintendent, Govt. Maternity Hospital, Gandhi Nagar Dr. Arun Sharma.
Resource persons for the program were Dr. Manu Arora, HOD, Dept. of Psychiatry; Dr. Abhishek Chauhan, Neuropsychiatrist, GMC Jammu; Dr. Jagdish Thappa, Ex Professor & Head, Dept. of Psychiatry, GMC, Jammu; Dr. Akhil Menia, Registrar Psychiatry, GMC Jammu; Dr. Arun Sharma; Ms. Shikha Singh; Ms. Pooja Kumari.
Topics covered were “Overview of psychoactive Substances”, “Principles of Drug Addiction Treatment”, “The Science of Addiction and Reward Pathway”, “Drug Addiction in Women &Pregnant Women”, “Introduction to ASSIST Screening Tool”, “How to use ASSIST Tool”, “How to Score and introduction to ASSIST tool”, “Pharmacotherapy in Drug Addiction (what health workers should know)”.
The training program concluded with certificate distribution function. Program Director JKSPYM, Mrs. Pallavi Singh and Medical Superintendent, Govt. Maternity Hospital, Gandhi Nagar Dr. Arun Sharma presented the certificates to all the participants.
