Srinagar, Jan 03: Reiterating the role of police in fostering peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdi expressed pride in Shergarhi police station being recognized as one of the top three police stations by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
In conversation with a Sringar based news channel, IGP Birdi emphasized the significance of this acknowledgment, highlighting that it symbolizes the department’s commitment to excellence. Encouraging other police stations in the Valley, he stressed the value of constructive competition, expressing optimism that their dedicated efforts would also receive similar recognition in the future.
“The Jammu and Kashmir Police is devoted to fostering peace and progress in the region. Collaborative efforts are crucial to elevating our Union Territory,” he affirmed.”
Earlier Director General of Police RR Swain has said that this recognition underscores the importance of continuously improving police services to support the community and build a positive organizational image.

It reflects the relentless commitment of upholding the highest standards of Police services, the DGP added. He has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Home Affairs for acknowledging the exemplary performance of Police Station Shergarhi.
