Pulwama, Oct 30: Ritika Bhan, a Kashmiri Pandit originally from Batapora in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, achieved the 17th rank in the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination (JKCCE) on her first attempt. Ritika, currently residing in Jammu, attributes her success to a long-standing commitment to social service. “Even before my 12th grade, I decided to join the administrative services,” she shared in a telephonic interview with *Rising Kashmir*.
Ritika’s approach involved self-study and following “Topper Talks” on YouTube to compile a personalized booklist. “I put in a lot of hard work. Success requires dedication, perseverance, and a disciplined approach,” she noted, revealing that her preparation spanned over six years. Focused and disciplined, she avoided distractions like social media, dedicating fixed hours each day to her studies.
Her family, friends, and the Kashmiri Pandit community are celebrating her accomplishment, which has brought them immense joy. Ritika’s father, Ramesh Chander Bhan, who recently retired from government service, shared, “There were no limits to my happiness when I heard the news at 4:00 a.m.”
With deep roots in Shopian, Ritika maintains regular visits to her hometown, crediting her uncle for being a source of inspiration and support. Looking forward, she aims to make a meaningful impact in her role, particularly hoping to work in the health sector to serve the people. An alumna of St. Xavier Convent School, Ritika holds a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Zoology from Cluster University Jammu, completing her master’s in April 2024.
