Jammu/Srinagar, July 22: Heavy rainfall in Jammu disrupted all scheduled fixtures of the Boys U-14 Inter-School Cricket Tournament, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), resulting in the rescheduling of matches across three venues. However, in Srinagar, play continued uninterrupted with JKCA Leopards, Green Valley School, and Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar registering commanding victories.A statement issued here said that at the Doon School Ground, JKCA Leopards thrashed Leads School by 9 wickets. Batting first, Leads School were skittled out for 87 runs in 15 overs. Amaan top-scored with 38, while Reyan added 24 runs. The standout performer was Hazim, who produced a stunning spell, claiming 5 wickets including a hat-trick, while Milad took 4 wickets. In reply, the Leopards chased down the modest target with ease, losing just one wicket. Arslan (34) and Muzain (28) guided their side home. Hazim was deservedly named Player of the Match for his match-winning performance. In the earlier match at the same venue, Green Valley School cruised to victory over Foundation School, winning by 9 wickets. Chasing a paltry target of 75, Green Valley reached the total in just 7 overs, losing a solitary wicket. Opting to bat first, DPS posted 131 for 4 in 20 overs, with Rafid (34) and Dyan (32) providing crucial runs. For Burn Hall, Humail took two wickets. In response, Burn Hall managed 125 runs, falling short despite Usman’s 26-run effort. Azam shone with the ball for DPS, taking 3 wickets, and was named Player of the Match.
