J&K leaders mourn loss of eight lives in tragic Anantnag road accident

Srinagar, July 27: Political leaders across Jammu & Kashmir expressed their deep grief and anguish over the tragic loss of eight members of a single family, including five children, in a road accident on the Sinthan-Kokernag route in Anantnag district on Saturday.

Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

Dr Farooq Abdullah expressed his sorrow, saying, “I offer my heartfelt condolences to those mourning this profound loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families as they navigate through this unimaginable grief. May the departed souls rest in peace, and may their families find the strength and solace to endure this trying time.”

Omar Abdullah added, “I send my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the grieving families of those lost in this horrific incident. May they find solace and strength during this unimaginably difficult time. I fervently pray for the success of the ongoing rescue mission, hoping that every effort will be made to bring any survivors to safety.”

Other National Conference leaders, including General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Addl General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, MP Anantnag Mian Altaf Ahmad, and others, also extended their deepest sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families.

Ghulam Nabi Azad

Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed shock over the tragic accident. He urged the government to compensate the families of the deceased and emphasized the need for caution on the tough and hilly Kishtwar-Kashmir road.

Mehbooba Mufti

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti expressed deep shock over the tragic loss. She urged authorities to provide immediate compensation and support to the affected families, offering her heartfelt condolences.

M Y Tarigami

Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami expressed deep shock and grief over the loss of lives, demanding adequate compensation for the affected families.

Altaf Bukhari

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the incident, mourning the loss of eight lives, including five children. He called for prayers for the departed souls and the grieving families.

Hakeem Yaseen

Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) and former Minister, Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, expressed shock and grief over the incident. He conveyed his sympathies and urged the government to provide ex-gratia relief to the bereaved family.

Sajad Lone

Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (JKPC) President Sajad Lone, according to the party’s post on social media site X, expressed sadness over the accident. The party extended their thoughts and prayers to the families of the deceased.

G M Saroori

Ghulam Mohammad Saroori expressed deep sadness and shock, offering condolences to the families of the victims, including a policeman, five children, and two women. He called for improved road safety measures and strict enforcement of traffic regulations.

Saroori demanded a thorough investigation into the accident and urged the government to provide immediate assistance and compensation to the affected families. He called for collective efforts towards safer roads in Jammu and Kashmir.
