Jammu, Jan 23: Following directives from the party high command, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formed 38 committees to engage with voters and manage the party’s 2024 election campaign across all 5 Lok Sabha seats in the Union Territory.
The formation of these committees took place during a State Election Management Committee meeting at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. Originally planned after the visit of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, the formation was delayed due to the deferment of his visit earlier this month.
On fresh directives from the party’s high command, the J&K BJP has now constituted these committees to strategize for the upcoming 2024 Parliamentary elections, BJP District President, Munish Khajuria told Rising Kashmir.
He said the committees include the Protocol Committee, Publicity Committee, Transport Committee (for managing vehicles and helicopters during VIP campaigns), Manifesto Committee, New Voters’ Committee, Prachar Committee, and Campaign Committee, among others.
Former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K in the BJP-PDP alliance Government, Dr Nirmal Singh, has been appointed as the Cluster Head overseeing all 38 committees. Dr Singh’s role involves looking after all 5 Lok Sabha seats of the J&K UT, focusing on campaigning, party preparedness, and overall functioning of the committees.
These committees will provide feedback to the party high command regarding demands and development requirements of all 5 Lok Sabha seats in J&K. Regular updates will be uploaded on the party’s official website as per the directives of the party high command.
