Jammu, Oct 18: With former Deputy Chief Minister Dr.Nirmal Singh as its chairman, J&K BJP has constituted a committee that will suggest the measures to arrive at a meaningful solution to the issues of the agitating Kashmiri Pandits and reserved category employees in Jammu.
Pertinently, worried over the recent surge in the selected killings in Kashmir Valley, the Kashmiri Pandit (PM package and non-PM package) and reserved category employees have been protesting in Valley as well as Jammu for the past around 5 months, seeking relocation to Jammu until situation improves in Kashmir Valley.
Chairman of the newly constituted committee, Dr.Nirmal Singh, said that the committee with former minister Dr.Devinder Kumar Manyal, party leaders Ajay Bharti, Chand JiBhat and HiraLalBhat as members, will meet the agitating employees, listen to their issues and decide what best could be done for their safety point of view.
“After meeting the agitating employees,” Dr Nirmal Singh said, “the committee will chalk out a strategy at the party level and submit a report to the party president Ravinder Raina.”
Thereafter, he said, a delegation of the J&K BJP leaders will either meet Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha himself or any other higher-level administrative officer to discuss with them what could be done for the safety of the employees in Kashmir Valley.
“Our objective is to ensure that no employee is harmed in terror related activities in Kashmir,” Dr.Nirmal Singh said.
Prior to constitution of the committee, J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina met both the reserved category and Kashmiri Pandit employees (PM Package and non-PM Package) on October 8 and rang up LG Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Dr.Arun Kumar Mehta from the protest site, seeking redressal of the genuine grievances of the employees. He had also assured the agitating employees that their genuine concerns would be addressed on a priority basis.
