Jammu, July 18: Highlighting the rapid transformation of Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister NarendraModi, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said the region is emerging as a major hub of education and innovation. He lauded the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu for playing a pivotal role in advancing the Union Territory’s education sector and commended the institute’s commitment to the holistic development of its students.

The Lt Governor was speaking at the valedictory session of a five-day Orientation Programme held at IIM Jammu, where he also inaugurated the newly constructed Tejas Sports Complex within the campus.

In his keynote address, Lt Governor Sinha congratulated the students and extended his best wishes for the beginning of their academic journey. Emphasising the role of management professionals in shaping the nation’s future, he urged students to dedicate themselves to inclusive growth and to strive for a society where no one is left behind.

“I wish to see young and bright minds emerge as the business leaders and thinkers of tomorrow—individuals who will define the economic trajectory of society and contribute to building a developed India by 2047,” said the Lt Governor. “The future of India’s business innovation and resource management rests on your shoulders. It is your responsibility to drive industrial growth, attract private investment, and ensure economic resilience.”

Highlighting the rapid transformation of Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister NarendraModi, the Lt Governor noted the region’s growing prominence as a hub of education and innovation. He commended IIM Jammu for its vital role in advancing the Union Territory’s education sector and praised the institute’s efforts toward the holistic development of students.

The newly inaugurated Tejas Sports Complex, he said, stands as a testament to IIM Jammu’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals. “This campus is more than just an academic space—it’s a place where young minds will forge connections between theory and practice, emerging as capable professionals ready to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.”

Underscoring the importance of future-ready skills, Lt Governor Sinha stressed the significance of the “5 Cs”—Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication, Creativity, and Curiosity—as essential tools for navigating the fast-changing global landscape.

“Technology is rapidly reshaping the business environment,” he remarked. “Your challenge will be to leverage both management principles and technological innovation to enhance the ease of doing business and improve quality of life for all. Your leadership will also be crucial in fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and driving sustainable development.”

The 2025 academic session at IIM Jammu welcomed a diverse cohort of 474 students across its MBA, MBA (Healthcare & Hospital Management), Ph.D., Ph.D. (Working Professionals), and Executive MBA programs.

The event was attended by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu; Sudhir Langer, CEO and MD of RPSG FMCG; along with senior officials, heads of departments, faculty members, and students.
