Srinagar, Jan 26: J&K Bank celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and national spirit across its operational network.

The main function was held at the Bank’s Jammu Divisional Office, where MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee unfurled the tricolour in the presence of Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, General Managers, DGMs, other senior officers and staff.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, MD Amitava Chatterjee said, “As we celebrate the 76th Republicans Day with the inspiring theme, ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat Aur Vikas’, it is a moment to reflect on the country’s golden journey and the invaluable role played by institutions like ours in shaping its economic destiny. While witnessing pre and post independence eras during it’s glorious journey of over 86 years, J&K Bank has stood as a pillar of financial empowerment, deeply rooted in the heritage of this vibrant region while being a catalyst for its economic progress.”

Highlighting the Bank’s role in the region’s development, he added, “From promoting small businesses and artisans to supporting large-scale infrastructure projects, J&K Bank continues to lead the mission of inclusive growth in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, ensuring that no one is left behind in the march toward progress.”

“As India strides confidently toward its aspiration of becoming a $5 trillion economy, we remain committed to realizing the Union Government’s vision of inclusive and sustainable economic development across our areas of operations through financial inclusion, digital transformation and by encouraging entrepreneurship”, MD and CEO said.

On the occasion, one minute silence was observed for those who have given their lives for progress of the country before and after the independence.

In a function held at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters in Srinagar, General Manager Peer Masood Ahmad unfurled the national flag in the presence of General Managers, DGMs, senior officials and other staff members.
Similar functions were held in all the Zones of the Bank in the country.
During the celebrations, the Bank reaffirmed its commitment to blending its rich legacy with modern advancements to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people.
All the events began with national anthem and concluded with patriotic songs and a pledge to continue serving the people with purpose and dedication, ensuring that the Bank contributes effectively to country’s growth story.
