JAMMU, Jan 10: For the first time, seven distinguished personalities from the Jammu region have been invited as special guests to witness the Republic Day Parade 2025 at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, on January 26th. These individuals, who have made exceptional contributions in various fields, are being recognized for their achievements and the example they set for others.
Among the invitees are individuals like Nisha Sharma, a prominent Water Warrior from Tikri, Mand East, Udhampur, who has played a key role in water conservation efforts in her community. Dharam Paul, a skilled artisan from Basholi, Kathua, has earned recognition for his work in preserving the region’s rich textile and handicraft traditions. Neelam Parihar from Kishtwar, Yukti Kumari from Balandh in Ramnagar, Udhampur, and Surista Kumari Makhyal from Marh, Jammu, are also among those honoured for their significant contributions in various fields, such as women’s empowerment and community service. Suninderjeet Kour, the Nodal Officer from Talab Tillo, Jammu, is another distinguished invitee, recognized for her dedicated public service. Mehak, a student from Presentation Convent High School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, is also being celebrated for her victory in the Veer Gatha 4.0 competition, showcasing her passion for education and national pride.
They were selected as part of the 10,000 special guests invited from across the country, all of whom have been recognized for their exceptional contributions to society and the nation’s progress.
