Srinagar, Jan 10: Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav, on Friday reviewed the operational preparedness of troops along the forward areas of the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
A BSF spokesman stated that IG BSF Ashok Yadav visited the forward locations to assess winter preparedness and domination plans. During the visit, he interacted with the troops and commended their unwavering commitment to national security.
He also praised the operational readiness of the troops, which have been strategically positioned to ensure the safety and security of the upcoming elections in the border constituency. The spokesman emphasized the need to further strengthen the anti-infiltration grid along the LoC, in close coordination with the Army.
In response to light to moderate snowfall along the LoC in north Kashmir, security forces have heightened their vigilance, employing advanced equipment to counter infiltration attempts.
A senior BSF official highlighted the increased alertness across the LoC, particularly in Kupwara, Baramulla, and Bandipora districts, due to the snow-covered terrain. “We remain vigilant to safeguard the borders, ensuring the safety and security of the people. High-tech surveillance systems are in place to monitor infiltration and other suspicious activities,” the official said.
The official further added that multiple 360-degree high-tech CCTV cameras have been installed along the LoC, enabling continuous monitoring of movements along the fence.
Regarding the use of advanced equipment to track infiltration, the BSF official explained that cutting-edge surveillance tools are being utilized to counter infiltration attempts effectively.
On intelligence reports about terrorists being trained at launch pads across the border, IG BSF Ashok Yadav said, “These activities are closely monitored. Terrorists continue to be trained at launch pads, and they persist in attempting to infiltrate and disrupt the peaceful atmosphere here. We are confident that all such attempts will be aggressively countered.”
