Jammu to host Speed Fest India: A thrilling new chapter for Motorsports

Jammu, Aug 27: The City of Temples is poised to make history as it hosts the for the first time “Speed Fest India, a premier car racing event”, from 30th August to 1st September, 2024 at the MA Stadium, Jammu. The three-day festival is set to energize motorsports enthusiasts across Jammu and Kashmir with its exhilarating lineup.

The event is being organized by BSR MotorSports in collaboration with the Directorate of Tourism Jammu and J&K Sports Council.

Speed Fest India aims to enhance the motorsports and automobile industry in the region. It will offer a dynamic platform for local talent and car enthusiasts to demonstrate their skills and passion.

Directorate of Tourism has informed about Event Highlights which includes day 1st (August 30) the festivities will commence with a rally starting at MA Stadium at 06 a.m. & culminating at Hari Niwas Palace. Days 2nd and 3rd (31st August & 1st September): The Auto Cross format will feature races across various categories from 08:00 a.m. to 06 p.m. at MA Stadium.

Competitors will race on a specially prepared tarmac surface in a Time Attack format, ensuring a thrilling challenge.

In addition to the high-octane races, the event will showcase local cultural performances by artists from the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. These performances will highlight the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir through traditional dances and music, adding a vibrant cultural dimension to the festival. Attendees can also explore a handicraft and flea market enhancing the overall experience with local crafts and goods.

The overall winner will receive a cash prize, medal, trophy and certificate. All participants will be awarded medals, trophies, and certificates in recognition of their contributions and performances.
