Srinagar, March 01: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather advisory predicting rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir from March 1 to 12.

According to the forecast, March 1-2 is expected to be generally cloudy with light rain/snow at isolated places during the late night of March 2.

March 3 is predicted to witness light to moderate rain/snow at most places, with a few higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir possibly receiving moderate to heavy snowfall.

The weather is expected to remain dry from March 4-9, followed by a fresh spell of rain/snow from March 10-12.

Tourists, travelers, and transporters are advised to follow administrative and traffic advisories.

Farmers are advised to suspend irrigation and other farm operations until March 4.

Landslides, rockfall, and shooting stones are expected at vulnerable places.

Residents are advised to avoid sloppy slopes and avalanche-prone areas and follow the Directorate General of Relief and Emergency’s avalanche warning/bulletin.
