Baramulla, July 11: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish on Tuesday presided over a meeting of concerned officers here to take an appraisal of the progress of the effective implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme in the district.
At the outset, the DC was apprised through Power Point Presentation with regard to the physical and financial progress of the works being executed under the JJM. It was also given out that 107050 households have been provided with portable water connection in the district till date against the set target of 145696.
Asserting that JJM is a major flagship programme to cover all households, Dr Sehrish directed all the officers to work in coordination and ensure the smooth execution of JJM works in their areas.
She directed officers of all concerned departments to ensure that all households are connected through tap water, besides all pending schools, anganwadi centres, health centres and panchayat ghars be also provided with tap water connections under JJM scheme across the district. She directed the executing agencies to redouble their efforts so that a hundred percent saturation and the desired target are achieved within the stipulated time frame.
Meanwhile, various issues and bottlenecks were comprehensively discussed wherein DC exhorted the officers to carry on the works with minimum inconvenience to the public.
Joint Director Planning M Yousuf Rather, Superintending Engineers Jal Shakti Department, Chief Medical officer, Executive Engineers and other functionaries of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
