Jammu, Aug 15: Apni Party’s Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir on Tuesday hoisted the tricolor at the party office in Gandhi Nagar here to mark the celebration of Independence Day.
Apni Party State General Secretary, Vijay Bakaya, Provincial President, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh, Senior Provincial Vice President, Faqir Nath, District Presidents, Frontal Heads, heads of different wings, and other office bearers gathered leaders here at the premises of Apni Party office, Gandhi Nagar under the leadership of Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir, the party said in a statement.
To mark the celebration of Independence Day, Mir hoisted the national flag amid great zeal and enthusiasm among the party leaders while singing the national anthem.
Speaking to the media, Mir said, “India achieved Independence from the Britishers on August 15, 1947, following a long struggle. In Independent India, the people of this country irrespective of their caste, creed or colour or religion got the constitutional right to run elect governments. In these 77 years of independence, we have shown our ability to take forward our country on the path of development.”
He said that India is a diverse country and it is recognised as one of the strongest democratic countries across the world because of its strong democratic roots and constitutional values. “India’s biggest strength is its democracy that represents all the regions, religions, and castes without any kind of discrimination. Here, we get the opportunity to elect our representatives to form a democratic Govt, and get our issues redressed democratically,” he said while commending the role of Indian democracy which has played an important role at the world level.
