New Delhi, July 09: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh launched the 69th edition of the e-book Civil List 2024 of IAS officers on Tuesday, marking a significant departure from the traditional paper-based document.
The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space and MoS Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, said the e-book format will save the state exchequer and make it easier for citizens to access information about IAS officers.
The 4th edition of the e-book makes available information about over 6,000 IAS officers with a click of a mouse, showcasing the government’s commitment to transparency and good governance. Dr Singh highlighted the win-win situation for both the government and officers, citing the integration of Artificial Intelligence and data to make better-informed choices in governance.
The minister called for the use of next-generation tools and technologies for ease of working in the government, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Minimum Government – Maximum Governance”. He mentioned the importance of citizen-centric reforms, transparency, and good governance in Modi Government 3.0.
The DoPT Minister interacted with IAS probationers of the 2022 batch, who shared their feedback on the training program and overall experience. They praised the ease of working due to e-office and requested its replication in states. They shared success stories of Direct Benefit Transfer and reduction in pilferages and leakages of public money with the minister.
The e-book civil list contains details such as batch, cadre, present posting, pay level, education, superannuation, and more. The government’s move towards digitalization is expected to increase transparency and efficiency in governance.
