IGP Kashmir Zone assures smooth conduct of pollsin Valley

Srinagar, Apr07: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, Vidhi Kumar Birdhi, affirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made for the upcoming LokSabha elections 2024 in the Valley, ensuring a seamless electoral process.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, IGP Kumar expressed confidence in the preparations for the elections in Kashmir, stating that everything is being smoothly arranged. He emphasized the diligent efforts of the police to ensure the successful conduct of elections in the region.
“All SSPs have been instructed to ensure the elections proceed without any hindrances. We are prepared and closely monitoring to thwart any troublemakers,” he assured.
On Saturday, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Law & Order J&K, Vijay Kumar, who also serves as the State Police Nodal officer (SPNO) for LS Polls, conducted a review of election-related preparedness for the Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary constituency in Anantnag.
The meeting saw the participation of Central Armed Police Force’s (CAPF) nodal officer for J&K, IG CRPF G K Verma, along with DC/RO Anantnag, DC Kulgam, DIG Police SKR, DIG CRPF, SSPAnantnag&Kulgam. They deliberated on strategies to ensure the smooth conduct of elections.
The LokSabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to be held in phases: April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1, 2024.
