Baramulla, Nov 22:  The Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DPG) Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday said that hybrid militancy was the largest challenge in the valley. He said that handlers across the border were luring  the young boys by providing them with weapons and targets.

“We have largely succeeded in facing this challenge and this year so far, over 100 modules of hybrid militants were busted and dealt with strictly across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” DGP said.

DGP was talking to media on the sidelines of his visit to north Kashmir’s Baramulla town where he along with other civil administration officials inaugurated the Bindass Chowk in memory of Constable Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh.

Dilbagh Singh told media that the hybrid militants act as normal citizens, students during the day time but in the evenings on the directions of handlers across the border they kill the innocent people.

“A small number of foreigners are active who are being tracked down,” DGP claimed, adding that the number of local militants active in Kashmir has been cut to two digits.

He said that the anti-militancy operations were going on and very soon remaining militants were likely to  be eliminated as well.

Speaking to the media, DGP Singh said that the blog ‘Kashmir Fight’ is a death circus conducted by some persons across the border who are unable to comprehend the tranquility that exists in Kashmir and who, as a result, continue to threaten law enforcement, the media, and even public officials.

“The media has turned against Pakistan if they are not writing about their agenda. The call must be made by the media,”he added.

DGP said that media men don’t need to worry as they have already lodged a case against the blog and people running it.

“Strict action will be taken against those handling this blog,” DGP revealed.

He assured that the police administration is keenly watching the activities taking place on this blog and strict actions will be taken against the handlers.
