Srinagar, Dec 07: In a resounding celebration of academic achievement and experiential learning, HKM GDC Eidgah rolled out the red carpet for students returning from the ‘Gyanodaya Express’ College on Wheels initiative. The two-week All India trip, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department, took place from October 19 to November 2, 2023, providing a unique “Mobile College Experience.”
Under the esteemed patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Nighat Nasreen, the welcome ceremony echoed with applause for the students who successfully completed the educational endeavor. Principal Nasreen emphasized the significance of such initiatives, describing them as transformative experiences that bring out the best in students, honing their skills beyond the confines of traditional classrooms.
Dr. Rehana Rasool, the mentor for the participating students, shared insights into the selected project and how the journey enabled students to collect data and gain firsthand experiences. Highlighting the students’ role as responsible citizens addressing societal challenges, Dr. Rasool commended their successful completion of the project.
During the ceremony, students recounted their enriching experiences at prominent locations, including Parliament House, ISRO (Bangalore), Naval Shipyard, Sabarmati Ashram, and others. They praised the University of Jammu for meticulously planning and executing arrangements that made the learning journey comfortable and memorable.
Dr. Nusrat Shafi, the College on Wheels Coordinator, expressed the institution’s commitment to future endeavors, stressing the importance of holistic development for students.
