New Delhi, Sept 21: Marking a significant milestone in the history of nation, the Vice-President & Chairman Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar, on Thursday constituted an all-women panel of Vice-Chairpersons in Rajya Sabha comprising 13 women RS Members, as Rajya Sabha discussed the Nari Shakti Vandan Vidheyak Bill, 2023.
The Vice-President emphasized that the presence of all the women on the chair would send a powerful message to the world at large and would symbolize that they held a ‘commanding position’ during this epochal moment of change.
The women Rajya Sabha Members nominated to the Panel of Vice-Chairpersons include, P. T. Usha S. Phangnon Konyak Jaya Bachchan ,Ms. Saroj Pandey, Rajani Ashokrao Patil, Dr. Fauzia Khan , Ms. Dola Sen, Ms. Indu Bala Goswami , Dr. Kanimozhi NVN Somu , Ms. Kavita Patidar, Shrimati Mahua Maji, Dr. Kalpana Saini, and Sulata Deo.
