Srinagar, Apr 07 : The Ministry of Health and Medical Education has announced that it is in the process of setting up Dialysis units at all Community Health Centers, with the units in Magam and Beerwah to be established in a phased approach.
In response to a query from MLA Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani during the Assembly session, the Health and Medical Education Minister confirmed that the Department is actively working on the establishment of Dialysis units at all Community Health Centers, specifically in Magam and Beerwah, in a phased manner.
While sharing the details regarding vacant posts of Assistant Surgeons and Paramedical staff in Kashmir valley, the minister said that out of a total sanctioned strength of 1,736 Assistant Surgeons, 1,466 are currently in position, leaving 270 vacancies. For paramedical staff, of the 4,218 sanctioned positions, 2,628 are filled, resulting in 1,590 vacancies.
“The enhancement of health centers and institutes is undertaken in accordance with the Indian Population Standards (IPHS) norms. Feasibility reports are requested from relevant authorities, and if these reports align with IPHS standards, proposals will be evaluated,” the minister stated.
