Handwara, Mar 30: What was meant to be a joyous Eid celebration turned into an unimaginable tragedy for a family in Kulangam, Handwara, as a mother and son passed away just hours apart, leaving the entire village in shock and grief.
According to reports, on Arfa Day, 27-year-old Mushtaq Ahmad Wani went to Handwara market, a few kilometers from his village, to buy essentials for Eid. How-ever, upon reaching the market, he suffered a sudden heart attack and was immedi-ately rushed to Associated Hospital, GMC Handwara.
The devastating news of Mushtaq’s condition proved unbearable for his mother, who collapsed at home and died on the spot due to a heart attack. Meanwhile, Mushtaq was referred to a hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The twin tragedies have sent shockwaves throughout the entire area. Local residents recalled that just a month ago, Mushtaq’s father had also passed away, adding to the family’s misfortunes. Mushtaq is survived by his wife and two young children, who now face an uncertain future.
