Budgam, Aug 31: Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and a former minister, on Saturday officially submitted his nomination papers to contest for the Khansahib constituency in the second phase of the Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections.
Speaking with Rising Kashmir, Yaseen said, “I am going to contest assembly elections from two constituencies of the Budgam district. I have also submitted my nomination papers as a candidate for the Khansahib constituency.”
The former minister said his primary objective will be to address the concerns of the residents of Budgam district and to focus on local development and employment opportunities.
“Budgam is notable within the Kashmir Valley for its various tourist attractions, including Tosamaidan, Doodhpathri and Yousmarg. I will prioritise the development of these tourist sites, which can serve as a source of employment for the unemployed youths of the district,” he said.
The PDF Chief said education is another key area of his focus. “I will ensure that students in Budgam have access to quality education,” he said, adding, “There are numerous political issues that will be prioritised during this election cycle.”
Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has a strong political background. He has won the assembly elections from the Khansahib constituency in 2014 and has been elected five times from this constituency. The Khansahib Assembly constituency is his hometown.
