Srinagar, Aug 29: Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, Chairman of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister, on Thursday visited Chrari Sharief and Pakherpora in the Chrari Sharief constituency to meet with party workers and the local community.
During his visit, he reviewed the current political situation in Jammu & Kashmir and discussed strategies for the ongoing assembly elections, the party said in a statement issued here.
Earlier, Hakeem paid obeisance at the twin shrines of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA) in Chrari Sharief and Sultan Ali Aali Balakhi (RA) in Pakherpora. He prayed for peace and prosperity in J&K.
Interacting with workers and locals, the PDF Chairman highlighted the importance of voting to “defeat political parties that rely on deceit, hate and societal division for their own gains”.
“People must elect assembly members based on their performance, honesty and capability,” he said.
Yaseen advised voters not to be swayed by “empty and emotional slogans” but to assess the performance of every political party on the ground.
“The political parties that have betrayed the public trust and manipulated people’s emotions and aspirations should not be trusted again,” the former minister said.
