Grand Warriors Academy won 9 medals in Pencak Silat Championship

Srinagar, Sep 26: Grand Warriors Academy of Martial Arts won nine medals in various categories at the 8th UT Pencak Silat championship 2023-24, which attracted more than 800 athletes from various clubs and schools from J&K.
 
Three days 8th UT Pencak Silat championship was held at Sheri Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar from 23rd to 25th September 2023. The event was organized by Pencak Silat Association of J&K under the aegis of J&K Sports Council.
 
While talking with Grand warrior’s coach Adil Hussain Khan said, “Kashmir is experiencing an alarming increase in drug abuse. To curb this menace youth needs to be physically fit and should participate in Daily activities.
 
Rauf Ahmed Secretary L P School and the president of Grand warrior’s academy wished Rizwan Mukhtar and Yasoob for the selection in upcoming Nationals.
 
The Grand Warriors team was led by Shahid Hilal, Instructor of the Academy.  The students who won medals in 8th UT Pencak Silat championship include Mohammad Yasoob (Gold) pre-teen (48kg), Mir Ammar Mudasir preteen (40-45kg) (silver), Sahil Farooq (silver) (60kg) senior, Affan Sadiq (bronze) 60-65 senior, Shakir hussain (Bronze)(+45kg) senior, Farzan Bhat (Bronze) 55kg Senior, Aneed bagged bronze Senior (54kg), Anas bagged bronze Senior(65kg), Bilal bagged bronze Senior(50kg)
