Samba, Jan 09: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh has accused the administration of the backwardness in Parmandal Block and its villages where the villagers have been deprived of basic facilities.
Addressing a series of public meetings in Bara Kheter, Mandal, Jaswal and Shame Talab, the former minister said that the SC and ST colonies have been deprived of basic facilities by the authorities.
“The supply of clean drinking water facilities and unscheduled electricity is still a distant dream for the people of these villages. We have visited villages where the roads are not provided and people have to cover long distances on foot,” he said.
Singh also demanded that the authorities should end the discriminatory approach towards the marginalized section of society by providing them equal developmental opportunity.
“The people have complaints of poor health facilities and the education system which needs to be revisited by the authorities. However, the people have less hope with the LG administration as they did nothing for them in the last four years,” he said.
The AAP leader said that “The people are desperately waiting for the assembly elections in J&K and restoration of statehood so that the elected Govt can take decisions for the welfare of all without discrimination or favoritism.”
He demanded that the authorities should ensure overall development of Parmandal Block which has remained neglected for decades and the authorities should appoint a panel of Govt officials who will visit the remote areas and meet the people so that their development related issues can be addressed.
