Srinagar, July 17:
In a significant move, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a high-level committee to verify the service records of employees whose initial appointment orders are not available. The decision was announced in an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) on Monday.
The committee, chaired by the Principal Secretary to the Government, Finance Chairman, will comprise members from various departments. These include the Director General of Accounts & Treasuries, Finance Member Department, a representative from the GAD, a representative from the ARI & Trainings Department, a representative from the Department of Law and Justice, and a member from Parliamentary Affairs.
According to the order, the committee’s primary objective is to scrutinize and verify the entries recorded in the service books of employees whose initial appointment orders are not present. To establish the authenticity and accuracy of these service records, the committee will examine other relevant records available with the departments and their subordinate offices.
The committee will assess the genuineness and veracity of the aforementioned employees’ records. Based on their findings, the committee will make appropriate recommendations to the concerned Administrative Departments regarding the release of salaries for these employees.
The order also stipulates that the committee must submit specific recommendations to the General Administration Department within one month of the order’s issuance for cases where the genuineness of service records cannot be established beyond reasonable doubt.
