Policeman martyred, CRPF jawan injured in Pulama terrorist attack

Srinagar, Oct 02: A policeman was martyred and a paramilitary personnel was injured after terrorists targeted a joint team of Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) manning a check post in Pinglana village of Pulwama.
The terrorists managed to escape after the shootout. However, a joint reinforcement of police, army, and paramilitary forces was sent to the village to trace the terrorists.
“Terrorists fired upon a joint naka party of CRPF and police at Pinglana Pulwama. In this terror attack, 01 police personnel got martyred and 01 CRPF personnel got injured. Reinforcement sent. Area is being condoned. Further details shall follow,” the police tweeted.
A police spokesman said terrorists fired upon a joint party of Police/CRPF in Pinglena area of Pulwama in which police personnel Javid Ahmad Dar attained martyrdom and a CRPF personnel got injured.
The injured was immediately evacuated to hospital for the treatment of his injuries. Senior police officers along with reinforcement reached at the terror crime spot.
In a statement, the Jammu and Kashmir Police paid rich tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifices made in the line of duty. “We stand by the family of the martyr at this crucial juncture and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured personnel,” a Police spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law.
Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime. The area was cordoned off and a search in the area was going on till the last reports.

Wreath laying ceremony for martyr police personnel held at DPL Pulwama
Pulwama, Oct 02: A wreath laying ceremony was held at District Police Lines (DPL), Pulwama on Sunday to pay honour and respect to martyr police personnel Javaid Ahmad resident of Wasoora Pulwama, who attained martyrdom today in a gruesome terror attack at Pinglena Pulwama.
Officers of Police/CAPFs led by IG CRPF MS Bhatia, DIG SKR/CKR Sujit Kumar, DIG CRPF Alok Awasti, SSP Pulwama Gh Jeelani Wani, CO 55RR, COs 182/183BN CRPF and other senior Police Officers/Officials participated in the ceremony and laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains and paid rich tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
