Jammu, Oct 22. Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday that the government is dedicated to fulfilling the aspirations of the people by undertaking a holistic developmental programme.
He was addressing an introductory meeting of officers here. Minister for Agriculture Production and RDD, Javed Ahmed Dar was also present in the meeting which was attended by all divisional heads of different departments.
Calling for a synergised effort to speed up the development of Jammu and Kashmir, the Deputy CM said, “We need to focus on proper implementation of various initiatives undertaken so that people benefit.”
Choudhary said the primary role of the government is to address the developmental concerns of the people and ensure their participatory role in various initiatives. “The focus of administration should be people friendly so that the gaps, if any, are abridged and citizen-centric approach is adopted. The officers have to ensure proper implementation of various schemes and also obtaining feedback about the lacuna from the ground level as well,” he said, adding that the government has to rise to the occasion to meet the expectations of the people.
He was also briefed by the officers about the status of the implementation of various flagship programmes of different departments.
Meanwhile, the Deputy CM said the government is committed to catalyse various youth initiatives for creating a vibrant eco-system for honing the technical skills of youth so that they can set up their own income-generating units and create jobs for others as well.
He was interacting with a deputation of Heritage Craft instructors who called on him the other day. They highlighted various issues including the opening of the admission process in ITIs for facilitating youth for start-up and youth employment schemes.
Choudhary assured the deputations that all the issues highlighted by them would be redressed in a time-bound manner. “The government is committed to facilitating the youth for undertaking start-up programmes and self-employment generating schemes, which would redress the menace of unemployment being faced by the youth,” the Deputy CM said.
