Kishtwar, Aug 19: In a gesture of enthusiastic hospitality, Director of Youth Services and Sports (YS&S) in Jammu and Kashmir, Subash C Chhibber, and Special Secretary to Government Youth Services and Sports Department, Naresh Kumar, were heartily greeted by the field staff of YS&S and the local community during their two-day expedition to the distant district of Kishtwar.
The visit saw an impressive turnout of staff members from Sports Zones Kishtwar, Nagseni, and Darbshalla at the District Youth Services and Sports Office in Kishtwar. A pivotal meeting was convened, presided over by Director Chhibber, which brought together district-based employees of the Department. A comprehensive discussion transpired, delving into diverse issues surrounding the organization of sports activities across the various sports zones within this remote region.
Director Chhibber assured the employees that their legitimate demands would be diligently addressed within stipulated timelines. However, he also underscored the importance of maximizing youth involvement in sports and recreational endeavors. He emphasized, “Providing equal opportunities for play and recreation to the youth in even the most isolated corners of the Union Territory is of paramount importance to the present Government.” He further commended the Department’s efforts in establishing top-notch sporting infrastructure in hilly terrains.
The dynamic duo of senior officials also took time to visit the newly constructed Volleyball court at Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Kishtwar.
During the initial day of their visit, the Department’s employees who are actively engaged in the Sports Zones of Padder and Inderwal extended a warm reception to the visiting officers at the TRC Mugalmadan.
DYSSO Kishtwar, Kharati Lal Sharma, led the Department’s dignitaries on a tour of various sporting facilities and locations in Kishtwar, underscoring the commitment of the district in promoting sports and youth engagement.
This visit underscores the unwavering dedication of the Jammu and Kashmir Youth Services and Sports Department towards fostering sports and recreational opportunities for the youth, even in the challenging terrain of Kishtwar. The collaboration between officials and field staff reaffirms the government’s commitment to holistic youth development across all corners of the Union Territory.
