Good Governance Day: Dr Jitendra launches extended ‘Karmayogi’ version

New Delhi, Dec 25: On the occasion of Good Governance Day, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh launched the extended version of Mission “Karmayogi” to mark the day at a function organized by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) at North Block on Monday.
The iGOT “Karmayogi” platform now features three new elements: My iGOT, Blended Programs, and Curated Programs. Dr Jitendra Singh, also the Union Minister of State for Science & Technology; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, unveiled these additions alongside 12 domain-specific capacity-building e-learning courses. Additionally, a new blended learning program named VIKAS (Variable & Immersive Karmayogi Advanced Support) was launched.
In his address, Dr Jitendra emphasized the optimal use of technology for the timely delivery of services to the common man. He urged civil servants to harness the potential of the Digital Revolution and embrace the latest IT innovations for advancing Digital Governance. The minister highlighted the government’s focus on e-governance and a paperless office, resulting in a seamless flow of decision-making in the administration.
The Union Minister stated that Mission Karmayogi aims to groom future civil servants, making them more technology-enabled, innovative, progressive, and transparent. He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on ‘Maximum Governance and Minimum Government,’ stressing that technology is key to good governance.
Underlining the ‘Whole of Government’ approach advocated by PM Modi, Dr Singh described it as an all-encompassing march toward development. He praised the citizen-centric reforms initiated by the Prime Minister, leading to ‘Ease of Governance’ and, subsequently, ‘Ease of Living’ for the common citizen.
The minister commended the increasing number of women joining government service and highlighted the initiatives introduced by PM Modi for the well-being of women employees.
The Union Government has been celebrating ‘Good Governance Week/Day’ since 2014, honoring former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, with a focus on citizen-centric, efficient, and transparent governance.
New features launched on Mission Karmayogi Platform are:
My iGOT: It delivers targeted training courses on the homepage of individual officers, addressing their unique capacity-building needs identified in the Capacity-Building Plan for their Ministries/Departments.
Blended programs: These facilitate equitable access to training methodologies, integrating traditional offline classroom courses with online learning components.
Curated programs: These are designed to cater to diverse learning needs, allowing course providers to curate relevant content, resources, and assessments from the iGOT repository.
The 12 domain-specific capacity-building e-learning courses will directly address the competency requirements of civil servants, enhancing their functional expertise. VIKAS, a new blended learning program, focuses on capacity-building for middle management civil servants in the Central Secretariat.
