Katra, May 1: The School of Computer Science and Engineering at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, Thursday organised an insightful expert lecture by Amit Saxena, Principal Architect at SAP America Inc, USA. The session was attended by B.Tech (CSE) students, faculty members, and research scholars.
Saxena, a distinguished professional in enterprise architecture and digital innovation, delivered a lecture on “Industry 4.0 and the Application of AI/ML in Maintenance Processes”. He shared deep insights into the transformative role of Industry 4.0, particularly highlighting the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in predictive and preventive maintenance.
Drawing on real-world case studies and advanced tools, Saxena outlined how intelligent manufacturing systems are enhancing operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and driving innovation in industrial processes. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with attendees engaging actively in a Q&A session. Prof Balbir Singh, Dean Academics, commended the initiative, emphasising the importance of such industry-academia interactions in bridging knowledge gaps and preparing students for global challenges.
