Srinagar, Oct 27: The Secretary of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has issued a showcase notice to a GIS expert employed with the corporation, giving him two days to clarify his position following an alleged absence from duties.
The notice, obtained by Rising Kashmir, stated that the GIS expert was assigned to serve the SMC with honesty and integrity and to be present during office hours. However, during an unannounced inspection carried out by the Joint Commissioner (R), SMC, alongside the Secretary and Assistant Secretary (Personnel) of the SMC on October 25, 2023, at 3:30 PM, the GIS expert was reportedly found absent from his designated responsibilities.
The authorities have expressed serious concern about this breach of duty and have recommended taking appropriate action. The GIS expert has been given a two-day window to present his side of the story or face potential disciplinary measures as per the established rules and regulations.
