Kulgam, Oct 27: The two-day annual Urs of Mir Syed Muhammad Hussain Simnani (RA) in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district concluded on Friday. The Urs was celebrated with religious fervour at the saint’s Astaan Aliya.
According to the local Auqaf Committee, night-long prayers were held during the Urs, and on the following Friday, the blessed relic was presented to the devotees during pre-dawn and post-Friday prayers.
“People from various regions come to pay their respects at the shrine. Separate Langar facilities have been arranged for both women and men, overseen by the local Auqaf committee,” said one of the members, adding that religious scholars address the devotees, imparting teachings about Islam and Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Prayers were offered for the peace and prosperity of the entire Ummah, he added.

“We earlier inspected the shrine to assess the arrangements. In collaboration with the local Auqaf committee, we made sure that all necessary arrangements were in place for the visiting devotees. We extend our warm wishes on this Urs day and pray for the peace and prosperity of the entire nation,” he said.
