General Observer discusses election matters with political representatives

Inspects strong Room, other facilities at Thathri

Doda, Aug 31: The General Observer for AC-52 Doda and AC-53 Doda West Aditya Negi convened a critical meeting with Political Representatives here the other day and discussed matters related to Assembly Election.
The meeting addressed several key activities, including the randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) with the participation of political parties, ensuring adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) aligning with the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) guidelines, and the procedures for obtaining permissions for the use of vehicles by final candidates.
Additionally, the requirement for prior permissions for political rallies was emphasized, ensuring all parties adhere to the rules before organizing any campaign activities.
The political representatives used the opportunity to raise their concerns and grievances, which were noted by the General Observer and other officials present.
The meeting was attended by Returning Officer AC-52 Doda, Sunil Bhutyal; Returning Officer AC-53 Doda West, Ashok Kumar; ARO Dr. Subuh Ahmad Shad, and several political leaders and party representatives.
Meanwhile, The General Observer conducted a thorough inspection of Polling Stations in Assembly Constituencies 52-Doda and 53-Doda West. The inspection covered several key locations in Sub-Division Thathri, including Thathri, Kahara, Indloo, and surrounding areas, to ensure that all arrangements were in place for a smooth and fair election process.
The General Observer also reviewed the security measures at various checkpoints in the region. He inspected the naka checking points in Thathri, Kahara, and Pul Doda, where flying squad teams were actively monitoring to prevent any untoward incidents.
The General observer emphasized the importance of vigilance and coordination among the security forces to maintain law and order during the election period.
The General Observer was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Thathri, Tehsildars, and other officers and officials, who provided detailed briefings on the arrangements made for the polling day.
Discussions were held regarding the deployment of staff and the accessibility of polling stations to ensure maximum voter turnout.
