GDC Pattan organizes Tilawat-cum-Naat competition

Pattan, Apr 17: The Moral Education Cell of GDC Pattan organized Tilawat-cum-Naat competition in the college.
The event commenced with the inaugural speech by the Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr) Tasleema Bano wherein she lauded the efforts of the Convenor Moral Education Cell, Prof Saffiya Khalil, for organizing such events.
The principal stressed the need and importance of religious education among the students at a time when society is engulfed by various social evils. She urged the gathering to “follow the teachings of the Qur’an and Prophet (PBUH) who is the torch bearer on the path of righteousness for the whole humanity”.
In the ensuing Naat and Tilawat competitions, as many as 15 students participated who enthralled the audience with their euphonious and soulful voices.
In the Tilawat competition, Parveena Akhter (2nd Semester), Danish Tariq (5th Semester), Junaid Mushtaq (4th Semester), got First, Second and Third positions respectively. In the Naat competition, Fatima Abdullah (2nd Semester) Danish Tariq (5th Semester) and Afreena Amin (2nd Semester) got First, Second and Third positions respectively.
