JAMMU, DEC 24: The NSS unit of Government Degree College Kalakote in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Sciences on Saturday started a seven-day special winter camp here under the guidance of Principal Dr. Seema Arora.
The program commenced with a welcome note by Assistant Professor Khalida Parveen, HOD Environmental Science. Dr. Seema Arora inaugurated the camp by lighting the traditional lamp which was followed by NSS clap, NSS song and NSS pledge.
The seven-day camp has a special appeal to the youth as it provides unique opportunities to the students for group living, collective experience sharing and constant interaction with the community. The volunteers took the opportunity and conducted a cleanliness drive on the first day of the camp.
Addressing the volunteers, the Principal said the NSS plays an important role in mobilizing society and inculcating moral and social values among the youth. She appreciated the NSS volunteers for showing enthusiasm and spreading awareness in society. In the end, a formal vote of thanks was presented by Assistant Professor Himanshu Kumar, Convener NSS unit.
