Udhampur, March 11: The Swachhata Action Plan (SAP) Club, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Applications at Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur, Tuesday organised a “Poster Making Competition on the theme Cyber Hygiene for a Safer Tomorrow” at the college campus.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of cyber hygiene and encourage students to adopt safe digital practices to protect personal information, devices, and online identities from cyber threats. The programme was organised under the convenorship of Prof. Rachna Bharti, with the objective of educating students and professionals on safeguarding their digital footprint.
Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania, Principal of GCW Udhampur, graced the occasion as the chief guest. She commended the efforts of the SAP Club and the Department of Computer Applications in organising such a crucial event. She emphasised the importance of spreading cyber security awareness among the general public and urged the college to organise more such initiatives to educate youth about online safety. Dr. Preeti Dubey, Head, Department of Computer Applications, highlighted the significance of cyber hygiene in today’s digital era. She elaborated on best practices such as using strong passwords, enabling multi-factor authentication, avoiding suspicious links, and keeping software updated to mitigate cyber risks. The poster-making competition served as a platform for students to express the significance of cyber security through art. A total of 14 students participated, showcasing insightful posters depicting best practices for maintaining cyber hygiene.
