Jammu, March 13: The Jammu and Kashmir government Thursday said that the construction of the Mini Secretariat (G+2) in Akhnoor remains incomplete due to inconsistent funding.
Responding to a query by MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat during the Assembly session, the Minister in Charge for Revenue stated that the project, approved in 2012 with a budget of Rs. 996 lakh, has faced repeated setbacks. “Of the sanctioned amount, only Rs. 435.50 lakh has been released and utilised so far,” the government said, adding that “The project is currently 65 percent physically complete and 44 percent financially complete, but progress has stalled due to irregular fund allocation.” The Minister further stated that the cost escalations over the years necessitate a reassessment of the budget based on the latest Schedule of Rates (SoRs) before any further decisions are made.
